Having keen business knowledge, professional savvy and the ability to connect with top recruiters are deciding factors in an MBA's employability. To maintain a competitive advantage, SF State's MBA students are strongly encouraged explore the various resources available to them, including workshops and career counseling, and events held throughout the year. These workshops are designed to enable MBAs to compete more effectively in the MBA job market.

Building a Career After Your MBA

Hear from two panels, first from SF State MBA Alumni regarding their experience in finding their first job after the MBA, the challenges they faced, their recent success and valuable advice regarding building a career after their MBA. This will be followed by a panel of industry professionals who will share their knowledge about the hiring process and what they are looking for in a candidate.

Career Workshops
Pursuing an MBA is more than just obtaining a graduate degree, it's about enhancing your career prospects! Learn the job search skills necessary to put yourself ahead of the pack and strategically manage your career. Open to all Graduate Business students, pre-registration required. Workshops facilitated by Career Counselor Gibson Scheid, M.B.A., Ph.D.

Career Counseling
Students may make an appointment with Gibson Scheid for one-on-one career counseling. Her available hours are Tuesday and Thursday, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., except on workshop days, when her hours are 2 to 4:45 p.m. To set up an appointment, send an email to Gibson at mbajobs@sfsu.edu.
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please email Gibson to cancel or reschedule.
