Undergraduate Students : BUS 360 Business Communications
Course Description
Written and oral communication including theory, business writing, oral reports, problem-solving, data analysis, use of visual aids in communication, and ethical/legal issues.
Prerequisites
A grade of C- or better in SPCH 150, BUS 214. SPCH 150 is now called COMM 150.
Effective spring 2007, JEPET/ENG 414 is not a prerequisite although it is a requirement for a bachelor's degree.
Special conditions for Fall 2009
Only one section is offered for BUS 360 in the fall 2009 semester. It is an online section taught by Professor of Marketing William Perttula.

The online course uses Business Communication Process & Product, 6th ed., a South-Western textbook by Mary Ellen Guffey.
Enrolling in BUS 360 for Fall 2009 (updated Aug. 27)
- To enroll in BUS 360, section 13, schedule no. 39271, you need to obtain a permit number. Permit numbers are available for pick up in SCI 300, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., (closed noon to 1 p.m.), starting August 21 until noon on Monday, August 31.
Aplia and iLearn
- Starting Aug. 24, students enrolled in BUS 360-13 may visit the Aplia home page to sign up for the course software and begin following the syllabus.
- You will need to regularly visit the iLearn website and log in for course BUS 360 to get announcements about the course.
Course Assignments
- The first BUS 360 assignments are due Aug. 31 and Sept. 11 so you should use the permit immediately and visit Aplia.com to enter the course. The course key you need to enter at Aplia.com is on iLearn under BUS 360.
